In order to honor my 89 year-old father's wishes to remain in his home, it became obvious we would need 24-hour care to support him and keep him safe. Sid Gerber and Associates provided the oversight and the caregivers to make that possible. His hand-selected team of professional and compassionate caregivers became like members of our extended family, and Sid became a trusted partner in developing and sustaining a care plan for my father as his needs changed. His vast knowledge and experience with eldercare was an invaluable resource. It allowed us to enjoy more time with my father and spend less time worrying about the administrative aspects of managing his daily care.

You can clearly tell my parents’ caregiver has a significant amount of experience with patients with a decline in mental cognition. I have seen her incorporate techniques needed to help settle my parents down. She has also coached me on how to respond best to my parents triggers and has also taught me techniques to care for my mother. You can tell she loves what she does by her attitude.

As far as I am concerned it was worth every penny paid since your agency started caring for my 96 year old mom until she passed at the age of 105. Between Enid, Melva, Valarie and Silvia, mom was receiving excellent care that was compassionate and reflected patience.
Could not have gotten off the ground without them.
Here is something I believe to be correct - In the 9 plus years of caregiver service, mom never had a cold or the flu and was always peaceful and comfortable.
I most certainly can?t make that statement about myself.

I employed Sid Gerber as care manager for my parents from January 2003 through June 2014. I live in Virginia and my parents lived in Houston, Texas, with no other family members in the area; and I needed help with the day to day personal contact that was important to be able to respond to my parents? health and comfort needs. Sid provided that help by regularly visiting them, assisting them with transportation, helping them make and keep doctors? appointments, coordinating extra care services when needed, and even representing me and them during emergency hospital visits. Throughout this time, Sid kept me well informed and was always available to answer my questions and willing to share his experience to help me make many difficult decisions. Sid Gerber?s care management firm and personal care giving service, S. Gerber & Associates, provided an exceptionally high level of care to my mom for four years while living at home in Houston. Because I live in New York and my brother lives in Colorado, it was very important for us to find a local care manager in Houston; who could be trusted with our mother?s health; someone who had the same level of concern for her health and well-being as we did; someone with experience, education, and compassion especially for people with Alzheimer?s; someone who was responsive and had good communication skills.
Mr. Gerber?s personal attention and involvement with the details of my mom?s daily health and personal care needs and the close supervision and interaction with his qualified and compassionate staff assigned to her, allowed my mom to enjoy her independence and quality of life that few if any other people with moderate Alzheimer?s would ever have!

For a long time we tried to do everything for mom. We made a lot of mistakes, not because we?re not educated, but because there is just so much to figure out, so many facets involved when dealing with a full care plan for an aging person with Alzheimer?s. Especially a person who did not keep good records as in the case of our mom. In short, we realized that trying to do this on our own was not only costing us time, it was costing too much money, and more important, jeapordizing mom?s care and future care. This was the best money we ever spent. Probably not all case managers are this good, we?re lucky we found Mr. Gerber.
